Native to the Ryuku Islands near Japan, this exceptional Banana Tree is considered winter hardy through USDA Zones 5-10 because the roots, if well mulched, can survive temperatures of -10 degrees F.

Whether you’re growing indoors as a houseplant or outdoors in the landscape, Musa Basjoo plants are fantastic for adding tropical flair, but they definitely need lots of space. These large, fast-growing Banana trees grow 6 to 14′ tall with massive, paddle-shaped leaves reaching 2′ wide and 6′ long.
